Review Process Policy
Review Process Policy
The Journal Rekam Medis dan Informasi Kesehatan (JRMIK) applies a double-blind peer-review process to evaluate the quality, originality, relevance, and scientific integrity of submitted manuscripts.
Initial Editorial Screening
The editor evaluates each submission to determine whether it fits the journal's scope and meets the basic requirements for scholarly publication. Submissions may be returned to authors or rejected at this stage if they do not meet the journal's requirements.
Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are reviewed by at least two reviewers with relevant expertise. The identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential during the review process.
Reviewer Evaluation
Reviewers assess the manuscript's originality, research methods, data accuracy, analysis, interpretation, relevance to medical records and health information, and contribution to the field. They provide comments and recommendations to support the editorial decision.
Editorial Decision
The editor makes the final decision based on the reviewers' recommendations, the quality of the manuscript, and the journal's editorial standards. Possible decisions include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. The editor may seek additional reviews when necessary.
Revision and Review Timeline
Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers' comments. Each review round may take approximately four weeks, although the actual duration can vary depending on reviewer availability, the complexity of the manuscript, and the time required for revisions.
Research Ethics and Confidentiality
Reviewers must maintain manuscript confidentiality, declare potential conflicts of interest, and provide objective, evidence-based evaluations. Manuscripts involving medical records or health information must also meet applicable research ethics and patient confidentiality requirements.
Final Publication
Only manuscripts that satisfy the journal's editorial requirements and receive a final acceptance decision may proceed to publication. The editorial team retains responsibility for the final publication decision.
