Authorship Criteria
Authorship Criteria
The Jurnal Rekam Medis dan Informasi Kesehatan (JRMIK) upholds the principles of authorship transparency, academic integrity, and accountability. All individuals listed as authors must have made meaningful contributions to the research and manuscript in accordance with recognized publication ethics standards.
Criteria for Authorship
To qualify for authorship, each author must meet all of the following criteria:
- Make a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the study, data collection, data analysis, interpretation of findings, or development of research methods.
- Participate in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
- Approve the final version of the manuscript before submission or publication.
- Accept responsibility for their contributions and cooperate in addressing questions concerning the accuracy, integrity, or reliability of the research.
Author Contributions
Authors are encouraged to describe their individual contributions clearly. Contributions may include conceptualization, methodology, data collection, data curation, formal analysis, investigation, software development, validation, visualization, writing the original draft, and reviewing and editing the manuscript.
For research involving medical records, electronic medical records, health information systems, clinical coding, or health data analysis, authors should clearly identify their respective roles in the research process, while ensuring that patient confidentiality and data protection requirements are maintained.
Corresponding Author
The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the editorial team throughout the submission, peer-review, and publication processes. The corresponding author must ensure that all listed authors meet the authorship criteria, have approved the final manuscript, and agree to its submission to JRMIK.
Author Order and Changes in Authorship
The order of authors should be agreed upon by all authors before submission. Any request to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission must be explained in writing and approved by all authors involved, including those being added or removed. Such requests are subject to editorial consideration.
Acknowledgment of Contributors
Individuals who contribute to the research but do not meet all authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately, with their permission. Examples may include administrative assistance, technical support, language editing, or other contributions that do not qualify for authorship.
Publication Ethics
JRMIK does not support guest authorship, gift authorship, or ghost authorship. All authorship declarations must accurately reflect the contributions made to the study and manuscript. Misrepresentation of authorship may result in editorial action in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
