Correction and Retraction
Correction and Retraction
The Journal Rekam Medis dan Informasi Kesehatan (JRMIK) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. The journal may publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when necessary to address errors or serious concerns affecting published articles.
Corrections
A correction may be issued when an error is identified in a published article and the error requires clarification or amendment. Examples include errors in author information, data presentation, tables, figures, or other content that does not necessarily invalidate the main findings.
Authors who identify errors in their published articles should notify the editorial team promptly. The editor will assess the reported error and determine whether a correction is necessary.
Retractions
A published article may be retracted when there is reliable evidence of serious problems that undermine its findings or publication integrity. Reasons may include data fabrication, data falsification, plagiarism, serious ethical violations, or major errors that invalidate the research conclusions.
Retraction decisions are made by the editorial team after assessing the available evidence and giving the relevant authors an opportunity to respond, where appropriate.
Expressions of Concern
If a serious concern arises but the investigation is incomplete or the available evidence is inconclusive, JRMIK may publish an expression of concern to inform readers while the matter is being assessed.
Editorial Procedure
The editorial team will review reported concerns, examine relevant evidence, and consult authors, reviewers, experts, or affiliated institutions when necessary. Decisions will be based on the nature and severity of the issue and the evidence available.
Corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions will be clearly identified and linked to the original article whenever technically possible to maintain transparency and preserve the scholarly record.
Research Integrity and Health Information
For research involving medical records, electronic medical records, health information systems, clinical coding, or patient data, JRMIK gives particular attention to the accuracy of reported data, research ethics, and patient confidentiality. Any correction or retraction process must respect applicable privacy and ethical requirements.
Author Responsibility
Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their published work. They should promptly inform the editorial team when they discover significant errors or concerns that may affect the reliability of their articles.
