Post-Publication Discussion
Post-Publication Discussion
The Journal Rekam Medis dan Informasi Kesehatan (JRMIK) encourages constructive scholarly discussion after publication to support the accuracy, transparency, and continuous development of research in medical records and health information management.
1. Purpose and Scope
Post-publication discussion provides an opportunity for readers, researchers, and practitioners to raise evidence-based questions, clarify findings, and discuss the methods or conclusions of articles published in JRMIK.
Discussion may concern medical record management, electronic medical records, health information systems, clinical coding, health data quality, information governance, and other topics within the journal's scope.
2. Submission of Comments
Readers who wish to comment on a published article should contact the editorial team through the journal's official contact channel. Submissions should identify the article concerned and clearly explain the issue, supported by relevant evidence or references where appropriate.
Comments should be relevant to the article, scientifically justified, respectful, and written in clear academic language. Personal attacks, unsupported allegations, and irrelevant promotional content are not acceptable.
3. Editorial Assessment and Author Response
The editorial team will assess submitted comments for relevance, scientific merit, clarity, and compliance with publication ethics. The editor may invite the original authors to respond and may seek advice from qualified experts when necessary.
Any decision to publish a comment or response rests with the editorial team. Accepted discussions should contribute meaningfully to scholarly understanding and maintain a professional tone.
4. Corrections and Publication Concerns
If a discussion identifies a possible error, methodological concern, inaccurate interpretation, or issue affecting the reliability of a published article, the editor will assess the available evidence and contact the relevant authors when appropriate.
Where justified, JRMIK may publish a correction, an editorial expression of concern, or a retraction in accordance with the journal's publication ethics procedures.
5. Research Integrity and Patient Confidentiality
All post-publication discussions must respect research integrity, applicable ethical requirements, and the confidentiality of health information. Authors and readers must not disclose identifiable patient information, medical record numbers, or confidential institutional data in comments or supporting materials.
Concerns involving suspected research misconduct should be submitted to the editorial team with supporting evidence and will be handled under the journal's relevant publication ethics policies.
6. Transparency and Fairness
JRMIK aims to handle post-publication discussions fairly and consistently. Editorial assessments will be based on the content and supporting evidence rather than the personal or institutional identity of the individuals involved.
The purpose of post-publication discussion is to strengthen the reliability of the scholarly record and encourage responsible academic exchange in medical records and health information.
