Intellectual Property Policy
Jurnal Riset Kesehatan respects the intellectual property rights of authors, researchers, and other contributors. This policy sets out the ownership, licensing, and permitted use of published content, together with the responsibilities of authors and the journal.
1. Ownership of Published Content
Copyright in articles published in Jurnal Riset Kesehatan remains with the authors or other lawful copyright holders, unless otherwise expressly stated.
Upon acceptance, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, and preserve their articles, including through its website and authorized archival repositories. Authors must have the authority to grant these rights.
Authors retain the right to reuse and deposit their work in accordance with the journal’s Copyright Notice, Licensing Policy, and Archiving Policy.
2. Rights and Licensing
Jurnal Riset Kesehatan follows an open-access publishing model. Unless otherwise indicated, articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.
This license permits others to copy, share, adapt, and build upon the material for non-commercial purposes, provided that they:
-
Give appropriate credit to the authors and identify the original publication.
-
Provide a link to the license.
-
Indicate whether changes have been made.
-
Do not imply endorsement by the authors or the journal.
Commercial reuse requires separate permission from the relevant copyright holder. Third-party materials may be subject to different terms, as indicated in their credit lines.
3. Authors’ Responsibilities
Authors must ensure that their submissions are original and do not infringe third-party intellectual property rights.
Authors are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions to reproduce or adapt copyrighted materials, including figures, tables, photographs, illustrations, and substantial text extracts. These permissions must cover the intended publication and reuse conditions.
All third-party materials must be properly acknowledged. The journal may request evidence of permission before publication.
Authors are also responsible for obtaining any necessary institutional or organizational authorization to publish their work.
4. Journal and Publisher Responsibilities
Jurnal Riset Kesehatan and its publisher are responsible for presenting clear copyright and licensing information and supporting the lawful dissemination and preservation of published content.
The journal will assess reported intellectual property concerns fairly and take appropriate action based on the available evidence. Disclosure of an allegation does not, by itself, establish infringement.
5. Use of Published Content
Readers may access published articles freely and reuse them within the terms of the license displayed on each article.
Reuse must acknowledge the original authors and source. Adapted material must clearly identify any changes and must not misrepresent the original findings or imply endorsement.
Uses beyond the applicable license, including commercial uses of content licensed under CC BY-NC, require permission from the relevant rights holder.
6. Plagiarism and Publication Ethics
All submissions must acknowledge the ideas, words, data, and other contributions of others through appropriate citation and attribution.
Plagiarism, unauthorized reproduction, and other forms of intellectual property misuse are addressed under the journal’s publication ethics and misconduct policies. Depending on the findings and severity, actions may include rejection, correction, or retraction.
7. Infringement Claims
Suspected infringement should be reported to the editorial office through the contact details provided on the journal’s website.
Reports should identify the material concerned, describe the alleged infringement, and provide supporting evidence and information about the claimant’s rights.
The journal may seek explanations from the authors and other relevant parties. Where a claim is substantiated, appropriate action may include correcting attribution, obtaining permission, replacing affected material, or retracting the article. Content removal will be considered only when warranted, while preserving a transparent scholarly record wherever possible.
8. Policy Amendments
Jurnal Riset Kesehatan may update this policy to reflect changes in its publishing practices and intellectual property requirements. Updates will be published on the journal’s website.
Policy amendments do not revoke permissions already granted under a Creative Commons license for previously published content.
