Editorial Policy

Jurnal Riset Kesehatan has three categories of editors: the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, and Editorial Board Members. Associate Editors share the responsibilities of Editorial Board Members and may be appointed as Editors-in-Charge by the Editor-in-Chief. Associate Editors serve as representatives from each continent and are authorized to propose new editors and reviewers from their respective regions and to act as ambassadors for Jurnal Riset Kesehatan.

  • Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for overseeing the journal’s management in coordination with the publisher, including matters related to accreditation and indexing; ensuring that submitted and published articles fall within the journal’s scope; and appointing an Editor-in-Charge whose expertise aligns with the subject matter of each manuscript.

The Editor-in-Chief also oversees copyediting and layout to ensure that all published articles maintain a consistent appearance and format.

The Editor-in-Chief must be affiliated with the publishing institution, Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang, represented by its Center for Research and Community Service (Pusat Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat). A successor may be selected from among existing Editorial Board Members, taking into consideration their research track record and editorial experience.

  • Editor-in-Charge

The Editor-in-Charge is responsible for deciding which manuscripts should be published in Jurnal Riset Kesehatan. Decisions must be based on the validity, scientific quality, and significance of the research, as well as its relevance to the journal’s readership.

In making publication decisions, the Editor-in-Charge follows the policies established by the journal’s Editorial Board and applicable legal requirements concerning libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The Editor-in-Charge may consult other editors or reviewers when necessary.

Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their intellectual and scientific merit, without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.

The Editor-in-Charge must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts. Information about a manuscript may be disclosed only to the corresponding author, reviewers, prospective reviewers, other Editorial Board Members, and the publisher, as appropriate to the editorial process.

The appointment of an Editor-in-Charge considers subject expertise, potential conflicts of interest, editorial workload, and willingness to handle the manuscript. To safeguard editorial independence, the Editor-in-Charge must not be affiliated with the same institution as any of the authors and, whenever possible, should be based in a different country.
