Authorship Criteria

Jurnal Lintas Keperawatan (JLK) grants authorship to individuals who make intellectual and substantive contributions to the planning, implementation, analysis, and writing of articles resulting from nursing research, case studies, or literature reviews. Authorship must reflect each individual's actual contribution to, and responsibility for, the content of the published article.

All individuals listed as authors must meet the authorship criteria set by the journal. Conversely, individuals who meet these criteria must not be left off the author list without a justifiable reason.

Authorship Criteria

An individual may be listed as an author of an article in Jurnal Lintas Keperawatan only if they meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Substantive contribution to the study. The individual made a meaningful contribution to at least one of the following: the conception or design of the study, the development of nursing interventions or instruments, data collection, data analysis, or interpretation of the findings.
  2. Involvement in preparing the article. The individual helped draft the article or substantively reviewed and revised its intellectual content, including the introduction, methods, results, discussion, and conclusions.
  3. Approval of the final manuscript. The individual read and approved the final version of the article and consented to its submission for publication.
  4. Responsibility and accountability. The individual is willing to take responsibility for their contribution, help ensure the integrity and accuracy of the article, and cooperate in addressing any questions about accuracy, validity, research ethics, or publication ethics.

Individuals who contribute substantively in the early stages of a study should be given the opportunity to take part in drafting or revising the article, so that they can meet all of the authorship criteria.

The following contributions do not by themselves qualify an individual for authorship:

  • data collection alone
  • the provision of funding or facilities
  • general supervision
  • administrative or technical support

Contributors who do not meet the authorship criteria may be recognized in the Acknowledgments section.

Order of Authors and Corresponding Author

The order of authors is decided by mutual agreement, based on the extent of each individual's scientific and intellectual contribution to the study and to the writing of the article. Author order is not determined solely by position, seniority, academic rank, or institutional standing.

The first author is generally the individual who made the main contribution to the study and to preparing the article, as agreed by all authors.

The corresponding author has the following responsibilities:

  • communicating with the editors and journal management
  • ensuring the submission documents are complete
  • keeping all co-authors informed
  • coordinating responses during the editorial and review process

The corresponding author must also ensure that all authors have approved the author order, the content of the manuscript, and the submission of the article to Jurnal Lintas Keperawatan.

Author Contributions Statement

Every article submitted to Jurnal Lintas Keperawatan must include a statement of each author's contribution. This statement must describe what each author actually did in planning and carrying out the study and in preparing the article.

Authors may use the roles of CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy), provided the roles match their actual contributions. Relevant roles include:

  • Conceptualization
  • Data Curation
  • Formal Analysis
  • Funding Acquisition
  • Investigation
  • Methodology
  • Project Administration
  • Resources
  • Software
  • Supervision
  • Validation
  • Visualization
  • Writing – Original Draft
  • Writing – Review & Editing

Example contribution statement:

  • First author: conceptualized the study, developed the methodology, carried out the study, analyzed the data, and wrote the initial draft.
  • Second author: carried out the study, collected and curated the data, interpreted the results, and substantively revised the manuscript.
  • Third author: supervised the study, validated the results, critically reviewed the manuscript, and revised it.
  • All authors: read and approved the final version of the article and are responsible for the integrity of their contributions.

This example is for illustration only. Authors must tailor the contribution statement to each individual's actual involvement.
