Author Guidelines

ABSTRACTThe abstract should be clear, concise and descriptive. Abstract consists of:

  • Background: brief background of the topic and significance of the study. 
  • Objective: the major aim of the study. 
  • Methods: brief summary of study setting and participants; the study design; major methods used to collect and analyze data, including the proper name of instruments used.
  • Results: the major findings.
  • Conclusion: conclusions and implications for nursing practice.

KEYWORDS. Maximum of 5 keywords separated by semicolon (;), crucial to the appropriate indexing of the papers, are to be given.

INTRODUCTIONBackground describes the state of the art in the subject and includes a suitable background, preceding research, and the significance of the study to demonstrate the scientific quality or novelty of the publication. Current issues and gaps are included in the background. Avoid using a literature review or a results summary. The main goal of the study is stated in the objective.

METHODS. Method includes research design, research location and time, population and samples, data measurement, and data analysis procedures. Please include sufficient details about the procedures used, including ethical behavior.

RESULTSThe primary findings of the study are described in the results. It should be clear and concise, and it should be able to be reported on text or images. Please offer some context for the data shown in tables or graphics.

DISCUSSIONThe discussion should focus on the significance of the study's findings. The following topics should be discussed: What is the relationship between your findings and the original questions or objectives provided in the background section (how)? Do you provide scientific interpretation for each of your presented outcomes or findings (why)? Are your findings compatible with the findings of other researchers (what else)? Are there any distinctions?

CONCLUSIONThe conclusion should address the study's objectives. Provide a clear scientific basis for your study, as well as any potential recommendations or implications for nursing education, practice, or research.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS (if any)Acknowledge research funders and any research participants briefly.

REFERENCESUse APA style for referencing sources. All the sources consulted while writing the articles are included in the reference. As many recent citations as you can, especially those from the current writing year, should be used. Unless they are essential to your study, remove older (greater than ten years old) literature citations. There must be a minimum of 15 citations, and at least 70% of these must come from scholarly works. Using secondary citations in references is discouraged. Please make use of the Mendeley, EndNote or Zotero Reference Manager Applications.


 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
