Abstract

Preeclampsia in Indonesia contributes to the high Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR). The high MMR in Indonesia is due to mothers' lack of awareness about symptoms of preeclampsia. This research aims to develop the detection of symptoms in pregnant women with preeclampsia. This study is a cross-sectional study with N=132 using a questionnaire designed to identify the domain of preeclampsia symptoms. Several factors were examined using construct validity with Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and content validity using the Content Validity Index (CVI). Internal consistency was explored using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The EFA results show three factors: mild signs and symptoms, severe signs and symptoms, and preeclampsia risk, with 17 items accounting for 72.13% of the explained variance, and CFA conforms to construct validity. Furthermore, the CVI shows adequate content validity ranging from 0.70 to 1.0 and a high internal consistency of 0.86. The early detection questionnaire for mothers with preeclampsia contains valid, reliable, and robust measures.
