Abstract

Thyroid disorders are conditions caused by abnormalities of the thyroid gland, either structural changes or impaired function. They are among the endocrine disorders commonly found after diabetes mellitus. The thyroid gland plays an important role in regulating the body's energy balance and brain development. These functions are regulated by Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), a glycoprotein produced and secreted by the anterior pituitary gland. This study aimed to describe TSH levels among patients with thyroid disorders at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital during the 2023–2025 period. This study used a quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population included all data of patients with thyroid disorders who underwent TSH level examinations at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital during 2023–2025. The sample consisted of 89 data that met the study criteria, selected using total sampling. The data consisted of 11 patients in 2023, 64 patients in 2024, and 14 patients in 2025. The results showed that most patients had normal TSH levels (49.4%), followed by low TSH levels (48.3%). Based on age, the largest proportion of patients was in the 46–55-year age group (27.0%). Based on sex, most patients were female, accounting for 72 patients (80.9%). This study showed that thyroid disorders were more frequently found among females and patients aged 46–55 years. The findings may serve as a source of information for healthcare professionals and as a reference for future research.
